Language
The official language is Dutch. Papiamento is spoken locally. A lot of English and Spanish is spoken too.
Money
The Currency on Bonaire is the Antillean Guilder, also indicated as ANG or NAF. Furthermore, the American Dollar, credit card and traveller’s checks are also accepted.
Rental car
Since the public transport on the island is limited, we advice you to rent a car if you want to take a look around the island. You need to take your credit card to make a down payment.
Time difference
In the winters of Bonaire, it is five hours earlier than in The Netherlands and in the summer it is six hours earlier.
